Coming from a more conservative household, I do understand some of the concerns and reservations some people have about a bill that would allow same-sex marriages. My own mother has admitted more than once that although she has managed to accept the idea of gay relationships, she is still uncomfortable about the thought of gay marriage. It's not an issue that her generation really had to face, especially not in Korea.
Thus, the protest itself isn't what bothers me. Those against civil unions have as much right to their opinions as the proponents of the bill.
The religious bigotry, the unnecessary cruel words, the blind hate - that's what bothered me. Some of the posters that they held were absolutely sickening.
I'm tired of going to Church every week and hearing an entire flock of mindless sheep follow the priest in the intercessory prayers. Ever since election season first kicked in (about a year or so ago; ah, i love campaigning) my priest has been blasting the congregation about abortion and homosexuality to the point where all I really want to do is give him a swift kick to the head and tell him to just shut up.
And what really bothers me is that nobody in my immediate circle really seems to care. Maybe it's because we're younger and we're too wrapped up in our own snotty teenage lives. Every once in awhile, people will mention how they accept GLBTs but when issues like this come up, nobody seems to be serious (I'm beginning to wonder if they read the newspaper because this new item was the giant headline on the front page today...).

A/N: Inspired by the book Wintersmith by Terry Pratchett. Oh, how I love that man's books. My fic itself alludes to the Greek myths quite often though.

A/N: So I had this very strange dream. There was this LOTR-size, intense epic battle scene and Donghae and Kyuhyun were in it on the good side. Then Heechul suddenly appears in all his Heenim glory as the leader of the forces of evil. And Heechul is like, "Join me!" to Donghae and Donghae is like "OK, WE CAN!" And then Kyuhyun is like, "No! Wait for me, Hae! I've been lusting after you!" (clearly, i've been reading too many badly written, beautifully drawn mangas if the word "lust" is actually entering the dialogue of my dreams). And Donghae is like ":O" and Heechul is like "Let's go!" So Donghae and Heechul start running with super human speed to the evil headquarters which turns out to be the third floor of a building at my school. And then they enter the bathroom and there's someone in one of the stalls although we can't see him. And somehow Chullie knows it's Kyuhyun because he says, "It's Kyuhyun!" And Donghae is like ":O he's masturbating..." (i really don't know how he knew this... perhaps he has a masturbation radar?) and Heechul is like "Let's bust open the door!!! :D" and so they're about to do that when... I woke up. Clearly, my subconscious is on crack but I thought I could bend it to make a more serious fic. Unfortunately, suju likes the crack and this is what I came up with.
( The cold wind blasts Donghae’s face, biting at his bare skin as he sweeps up his blade in a shining arc and catches his attacker off guard. Warm blood splatters onto his face and he feels the rush of liquid fire – excitement – coursing through his veins. )
